In 2005 I had the lovely experience of raising three pet geese for two months. I've had pet cats and dogs, rabbits and rats, parakeets and lizards, but this was the most fun I've ever had with animals.

I found that the best way to administer a pill to a goose was to put it into a grape.

geese have keen ears. They always heard a plane overhead before I did.

justsusan > Mike and Tim designed and built this haven for the geese to escape predators. It floats on a large piece of boat-dock styrofoam and has a cross-piece for stabilization.
Cute, huh?

It's attached to the dock by a long nylon rope so we can pull it in for cleaning.
